Once upon a time, there lived a good king who ruled his land wisely.

He used the taxes his citizens paid to build schools and universities so that young people could learn all trades and study all sciences, thus better serving one another. He also built hospitals and trained doctors so that his citizens would not suffer from more illnesses. He had roads and railways built so that goods produced in one part of the country could be quickly transported to all other parts of the country where they were needed. He urged his judges to judge fairly and forbade his officials from accepting bribes.

While we are awaiting the announcement of a new conservative supreme court judge, and with the fate of Roe v. Wade hanging in the balance, I once again started my own research. I am a woman. I have seen and heard a lot throughout the years and women’s rights are dear to me -always have been, always will be. I am a woman of all ages and I speak up for women of all ages.

I don’t know anything about baseball, but I know a thing or two about victories.

Once upon a time, there was a guy named Bob. He married young, worked hard and it took him only a few years and he was able to buy some land.

I don’t know if I am the only one, but I have to admit, that there were times when money was tight, so tight that we really had to juggle around what we had, to make ends meet. Times, when we searched our house top to bottom for change, so we could buy cigarettes and maybe a burger to share. Once or twice a check bounced, because we were just a little bit late with our deposits. The bank knew us, these were the times when bank employees actually knew you by name and we knew the employees as well.

I hesitated, didn’t want to go further toward our house. I was afraid it would be the same as every day. I walked slowly on the driveway, looked around the corner and then I saw the mess. Letters and cards where splattered all over our front yard. I couldn’t believe it; we just put new signs up “no trespassing” and “private property” it didn’t help. Again they have stepped all over our lawn and stuffed letters and flyers into our mailbox, hundreds of them. Our mailbox was overflowing, couldn’t hold anymore and the mail had fallen to the ground. There was still a small pile underneath, the wind had scattered the rest.

Aloha-Hawaii

Lawmakers passed the final reading and Senate Bill 1030 is now on the Governors desk. This bill would make it illegal for anyone under the age of 21 to sell, possess, consume or purchase tobacco products, including electronic cigarettes and other smoking devices. Hawaii would be the first state to take this drastic step and the law would take effect on January 1st of 2016.

Some of our laws just puzzle me. Well, let me rephrase this a little bit, it’s not so much the laws, but the way they are being enforced. Let me give you an example, we all agree, that alcohol and cigarettes should not be sold to people under age…under the age of 21 to be exact.
