Many years ago I lost a good friend, she was older than me, and I was fortunate enough to be with her almost to the end. We had many talks, and she was generous enough to share her life experience with me. “Don’t ever look back with regret,” she said, and I am not so sure I understood it right then and there.

Today we celebrate George Washington’s Birthday, and I would like to know what he would say right now and not just him. I can’t help but wonder what kind of advice Reagan, Kennedy, Lincoln or Roosevelt would give us.

The first time I saw the desert was a moment I will never forget. I had read and heard a lot about it, but nothing could have prepared me for the emotions that I felt when I saw the golden ocean with my own eyes.
