The older I get, the less I like people, even though I love them. A while back our relationship shifted and I became very critical of my own kind.
Hell is -other people Satre once said and a shorter and truer statement has never been made. Does that mean “Heaven is -no people?” Wouldn’t that be the logical conclusion? But of course, life is not that simple. Alone is not good either, even though I happen to like to be with just me.

So Trump has won the election, but can’t prove it because the evidence shows otherwise. Nevertheless, he filed one lawsuit after the next -because the name of the game is denial and he plays it well for decades. We have memorized America,
how it was born and who we have been and where.
In ceremonies and silence we say the words,
telling the stories, singing the old songs.
We like the places they take us. Mostly we do.

We know the sound of all the sounds we brought.
The rich taste of it is on our tongues.
But where are we going to be, and why, and who?
The disenfranchised dead want to know.
We mean to be the people we meant to be,
to keep on going where we meant to go.

Ordinary people, trying to live their lives the best way they can. We don’t try to force our will upon others. We do not confuse having a strong opinion with being right. We do not look past our mistakes, but try to live with them. We do not accost women, men, or people “different” from us.

A woman once came to a town and asked the local sage, “I’m thinking about moving here. What kinds of people live here?”
The sage asked the woman, “What kinds of people live in the town you came from?”
“Where I’m from the people are liars, cheaters, and mean spirited,” the woman responded.

Time has been flying lately. The days didn’t have enough hours, the nights were too short. Christmas arrived too early, and the New Year come by almost unnoticed.
