Moving to a different country, or as in my case, to a different continent, is an adventure. Everything here in the U.S. was new and a little bit overwhelming and Christmas was no exception.

I feel a little like Santa’s Helper. People just forget to bring me cookies.

“What a cute commercial! Look Mom, the kids got a puppy for Christmas.”
Every year I see a commercial like that on TV and every year I flinch. I flinch, because it’s the time of the year again, when many children ask for a puppy for Christmas and I don’t blame them.

There I was in my workshop, still trying to finish up everything on time, when I thought that listening to a Christmas movie might finally help me to find the Christmas spirit….somewhere.
Some homes are hungry, some homes are sad – Some homes are desperate, some homes are bad. Some homes are broken, and children there grieve. Those homes I visit, but what should I leave?”
I found this poem on my search for Christmas spirit. It got to me, so I thought I share it with all of you.
Christmas is celebrated by people around the word, whether they are Christians or not. It’s a time when family and friends come together and remember the good things they have. People, and especially children, also like Christmas, it’s a time when you give and receive presents.
