“Who in the world would ring the door bell at 6 am Sunday in the morning,” I wondered and got out of bed.

Only the older ones still remember the day, when the water arrived.

In school we were raised to be ladies, they taught us to walk with grace, we learned to show temporary elegance. I know it all and use it at times, but not so today.

An old sewing machine, a daily reminder of a great man who had a special talent.
She had never met him; he died the year she was born, but he lived on in stories and memories people shared with her.

The whole city seems to be on its feet; they are celebrating their victory. People are dancing in the street, I can hear music and laughter. The party will continue until early in the morning. I know, I have witnessed it before.

“I was thinking about taking out a loan, please,” I mumbled and felt a little embarrassed. I wouldn’t be in this situation if I would have planned better.
