Today, when I read some of my installments of my “Losing it All” series, I noticed that at least 30% of my replies to comments had never been published, and I wondered about it. How can it be that I write a reply, hit SEND, and invisible internet gremlins detour it into the universal spam box, and they never make it onto my posts?
I start writing a comment, and what was supposed to be just a simple reply, started to get a life of its own and it got longer and longer -to the point that I was writing a blog post. The old saying
GETTING OLD IS MANDATORY, GROWING UP IS OPTIONAL
brought back memories and so it began. My fingers connected with my brain, and the thoughts started flowing right into the keyboard. The COMMENT got longer and more personal.
Well my friend, thanks to the designers at WordPress, who -in their infinite wisdom- have once again come up with totally unnecessary changes, I just threw your comment into the spam-abyss by accident. I suppose they are trying to check if I pay attention? And the answer to this question is a heartfelt, “Heck, No.”
The comments on my post “Rotten Tomatoes for Indie books” were both entertaining and informative.
“I never know if my reaction is because I am reading out of my genre comfort zone, or whether a book is as dire as it feels. I often buy, but get no further than one chapter in.”
Finally, it’s spring, even here in the midwest. The summer sheets are on the beds, jackets and coats have been put away until autumn. The weather went from terribly cold to hot without anything in between. The official start of summer is just four weeks away.
I took a 4-week break from blogging and it was a very interesting experience. The first days felt odd; almost like I was suffering from blogging withdrawal -if there is such a thing to begin with.
6 months ago I started blogging. I wasn’t really sure what it meant but decided to do it anyway. I watched the movie “Julie and Julia” and if she could do it, so could I…it couldn’t be that complicated. I had the idea, or the vision, to write about my quitting journey. I wanted to share my experience with others and thought “maybe I can reach just one smoker”. I didn’t really know how, but that was the idea behind it and the reason why I started blogging.
Leave the Lamb Alone
I wanted to surprise my husband with a special dinner and when I searched for the recipe I had in mind, I thought about all the cooking blogs I follow. Sure enough, I would find what I was looking for.
