Yesterday got away from me. Somehow—not sure how it happened— in the afternoon I sat down to take a short break, and then I dozed off and woke up three hours later. Age? Heat? Puppy exhaustion? All of it, I suppose. The dogs didn’t wake me. The phone was quiet. Husband was at work. It’s like the world had decided I needed some sleep.

This brings me joy. Reading through news and sharing what I think might be worth reading—I keep the U.S. domestic political noise out unless it directly affects another country. (Sorry, Canada)

I have neglected my blog and my blogging friends. I didn’t write much and read even less. I have been busy; tried to juggle too many things all at once, bit off more than I could chew. Whenever life demands my full attention, the virtual world has to be put on hold.

We both have been sick for weeks -three weeks to be exact. We both had a cold that just lingered a bit longer than usual. I could hear my husband cough in his sleep and he said the same about me the next morning. We both finally took time off work, that’s something we rarely do.
