It is Frisbee Wednesday at Serendipity’s blog and Marilyn’s post today made me think about our dogs as well, about how much they mean in our lives. We have two older dogs, both with white muzzles and our new puppy, that wasn’t planned, is running through my workshop, in search of something she can use as a toy – ignoring the ones on her bed.

Let me see, do I really want to focus -again- on something negative and make a list of things, I couldn’t accomplish last week? Or, do I keep on writing, with a smile on my face, and concentrate instead on the things that I did accomplish.

Finally, the daily rain has stopped and it is summer in Ohio. It is warm and sunny outside, hummingbirds are drinking from the feeder, flowers are blooming and our outside room looks inviting.

The most of us have a full schedule, regardless of what we do. So, there is no if. We all will find time when something is really important to us.

An older, tired-looking dog wandered into my yard.

I could tell from his collar and well-fed belly that he had a home and was well taken care of.

He calmly came over to me, I gave him a few pats on his head; he then followed me into my house, slowly walked down the hall, curled up in the corner and fell asleep. An hour later, he went to the door, and I let him out.

Dust if you must,
but it might be better,
to paint a picture or write a letter,
to bake a cake or plant a seed,
to ponder the gap between want and need.

Some things can make my blood boil, and I reach high performance in under 10 seconds just like a racecar. Yes, there is something that I would like to see in the news and so I will stretch today’s daily prompt a little bit, because the “item” I will be talking about is not an item. It’s a web page that I would like to see in the news.

I love to go for long walks with our dogs and often drive out of town into a nearby forest, park somewhere and off we go. “Aren’t you afraid to walk into the woods?” I hear it often and I have to say I am not afraid at all. Life isn’t a staged movie, where the bad guy is hiding behind a single tree in a gigantic forest, waiting there for years for the right woman to come by.

valentines
I went to a garage sale a while back and bought a few books. Back at home I put the books on my have-to-read-pile and a few pages fell down on the floor. Two old and yellowed pages, ripped out of a magazine; the pages don’t show the name, just the page number 38 and 40. I read the story and it made me smile -wish it would show the author.  I kept it and it’s on my desk since a while. Today is Valentine’s Day and I thought I will no write a smoking post, but will share this article with all of you instead. So here we go:

When I still smoked I had a rather unhealthy morning routine. There was the “morning hack” aka smoker’s cough, but of course that’s not what I had…at least not officially. I called it a “sinus problem”, because I didn’t want to admit the truth, but nevertheless, it was part of my early morning routine. Coughing and trying to breeze normally, it took some time.
