SARS-CoV-2 RNA detected! There it was, something positive this year I didn’t want to hear. My husband went Sunday in the morning to get his COVID test done -part of his pre-op for Thursday’s procedure- and three hours later an incoming message informed us of the unexpected. His test came back positive.

At first I smiled when I read the joke, but my smile quickly turned into sadness. How can such a harmless joke bear so much truth?
United, divided hoping, fearing not understanding. Wishing WE come back as one and will stand proud as US.
Stay home, they say and I do.

The Canadian author, essayist and poet Margaret Atwood was awarded the Peace Prize of the German Book Trade today at a ceremony attended by roughly 1,000 invited guests in the Church of St. Paul in Frankfurt. The speech honoring this year’s recipient was given by Austrian writer Eva Menasse. Margaret Atwood gave the speech in German.
