I made an unbelievable discovery this week, and ever since I am in peace. I felt a dramatic shift in me and in the blink of an eye, the balance in me was restored.
Like so many of us, I watched the funeral of former President Georg H. W. Bush. Not in full lengths -one has to work to make a living- but I listened to it during my work and looked up at the TV screen when I wanted to.
I noticed the silence, turned around and looked at her on my screen. The young girl just stood there, didn’t say a word and at first, I didn’t understand.
I still wake up and wish it all would be just a dream. Much has changed during the last six months. I still laugh a lot and giggle like a little girl, but there is also a sadness in me that you can often see -and hear- when I read or watch the news.
I was in the kitchen when I heard the news on TV. Three young women that had been found in Cleveland, not so far from where we live. I went to the living room, sat down in front of the TV and what I heard sent shivers down my spine.
I don’t have much to say today. Just wanted to share a poem that is dear to me.
MORTAL:
“The night is cold, the hour is late, the world is bleak and drear;
Who is it knocking at my door?”
I haven’t’ felt much excitement about the new year. 2016 was a pretty crappy year, may the new one not be as bad, please. That was my silent plea. I never make New Year resolutions, but surprisingly have one for the upcoming year. “Stay calm and don’t give up hope.”
I am still shocked and confused by the outcome of the Presidential election, and I am upset with all the people, who so arrogantly thought they know it all.
“Don’t you worry, Trump will never be President, in the end, it all will be fine. The U.S. has a way to stop people like him. We have a constitution and an election process that works.”
