Chances that you are as stubborn as I am are pretty high, after all we are friends and we have many things in common.

“Everyone must leave something behind when he dies, my grandfather said. A child or a book or a painting or a house or a wall built or a pair of shoes made. Or a garden planted. Something your hand touched some way so your soul has somewhere to go when you die, and when people look at that tree or that flower you planted, you’re there.
I wouldn’t want to see the future. Not my own and not the one of others. What, if I would take a look and the people I love wouldn’t be in it anymore? What, if I would see the future and it would be bad for me, for the ones I love or for all of us? That I would fear more than anything. For me it’s important to keep the hope up. Hope and optimism is part of my nature. If I would be able to glance into the future, I wouldn’t have a reason to hope anymore.
My husband is a TVoholic and in case this word is not existing -yet-, it needs to be invented and used for people like him. He loves his TV. I call it the “noise box” and it wouldn’t be turned on for days, if it would be up to me. I understand why he loves to watch TV in the evening. We both work a lot, work crazy hours and it’s a nice way to relax and unwind after a long day.
After such a long time, there it was…a positive daily prompt. I couldn’t believe my eyes this touched my heart. I had given up hope. I was certain there wouldn’t be another one in my lifetime and they had just proven me wrong. A positive prompt…what a beautiful sight it was, it had me all choked up and tears were running down my face. This calls for a special celebration, I should go and get me some chocolate ice cream.
I just finished reading a book again, that I read for the first time over 20 years ago. We had a community garage sale a few weeks back and I stopped at one of my neighbors house and there it was, the book that I wanted to read again was for sale on her table for 25 cents. I grabbed it quickly, couldn’t believe how lucky I was. I paid and held the book tight.
Let me take a wild guess, you just read the headline and you have no idea who Winnetou is. My childhood hero, the Mescalero-Apache chief I fell in love with when I was young, is hardly known here in the US.
I always wanted to meet an extraterrestrial creature and I am delighted, they finally showed up in the boonies in Ohio, who would have thought. Not just that, this creature is asking me for help to understand us humans here on planet Earth. He came to the wrong person. How can I explain something that I can’t understand myself?
I was born in the 60’s, times were different then…going to the movies was a big-to-do. There was only one movie theater close by…and that was 35 miles away. My Grandmother or other kids parents drove us to town for the day and we all were excited. We had 50 cent that we could spend, sometimes even a dollar. We went to the one and only ice cream parlor right beside the movie theater and would either have a milkshake or an ice cream sundae…we would sit there with other wanna-be-adults, debating and discussing the movie we were going to watch. They had always two movies playing and it was a hard decision to make.
I had to borrow this line from my blogging friend “The Zombies ate my brain” and I hope she doesn’t mind, but I am afraid that’s exactly what happened to me. I wasn’t very much online lately and I can blame it all on my husband and the Zombies :-).
