The fear of writing that I felt when I started blogging and writing has vanished. I never noticed that I liked writing, didn’t really think about it, until I started blogging. Maybe writing has been something, that has been waiting inside of me to be let out. Like a caged up animal, just waiting for the chance to be set free.

Years ago I would have picked the door to Camelot without any hesitation.

I heard about Arthur, the illegitimate son of Uther Pendragon, legendary British King, when I was just a child. The always remaining question, was he really existing or was his persona just made up, always fascinated me. But, I would have stepped through the door to Camelot, not because of King Arthur, Guinevere and Sir Lancelot, but because of Merlin, the greatest Wizard of all.

“Everyone must leave something behind when he dies, my grandfather said. A child or a book or a painting or a house or a wall built or a pair of shoes made. Or a garden planted. Something your hand touched some way so your soul has somewhere to go when you die, and when people look at that tree or that flower you planted, you’re there.

The following are examples from a book called “Disorder in the American Courts” and I would like to give you a fair warning: “Stop eating, chewing and drinking before you start reading.” I almost choked on my cookie. This are things people actually said in court, word for word, taken down and now published by court reporters, who had the torment of staying calm, while these exchanges were actually taking place.

I just finished reading a book again, that I read for the first time over 20 years ago. We had a community garage sale a few weeks back and I stopped at one of my neighbors house and there it was, the book that I wanted to read again was for sale on her table for 25 cents. I grabbed it quickly, couldn’t believe how lucky I was. I paid and held the book tight.

Let me take a wild guess, you just read the headline and you have no idea who Winnetou is. My childhood hero, the Mescalero-Apache chief I fell in love with when I was young, is hardly known here in the US.

Finally, I am famous…that was about time. A non-existing dream came true, thanks to the daily-rerun.

My life started between Austria and Italy in Europe, then I married young and moved to the US, started my career and traveled the world. I would write my own biography, with my own words, in my own distinctive style with lack of grammar and punctuation, sprinkled with humor, sarcasm and occasional wisdom.

…but not for long, just for a little while. Maybe a few days, maybe a few weeks or months. I just read a book,”No”… let me rephrase this. I just finished reading an awesome book. A while back I walked through our grocery store and there was a pile of books for $2, just the right thing for a bargain hunter like me. I didn’t expect to find anything interesting there. I mean “really, what can you expect for just $2”, nothing more than maybe a few coffee table books for last minute Christmas presents. Oh, do I like to be wrong!
