once-upon-a-time

Once upon a time, there was an unfortunate poor man. His home was also very poor – a small and empty house, where mice made their nests and spiders made their webs. People tried to avoid coming into his house – why should they stick their noses into those poor ruins? And the poor man thought that poverty was the reason of his misfortunes – his eternal destiny.

Haunted House

I never understood the fuzz about Halloween, it just wasn’t for me and then things changed…

…I got married. The big kid I am married to since over 30 years is a Halloween fanatic and that’s an understatement. He loves it so much, it’s his all time favorite Holiday.

A man found a cocoon of a butterfly.

One day a small opening in the cocoon appeared. He sat and watched the butterfly for several hours as it struggled to force its body through that little hole. Then it seemed to stop making any progress. It appeared as if it had gotten as far as it could, and it could go no further. So the man decided to help the butterfly. BARNEY CAR GETTYSBURGH

I remember it like it was yesterday…I did it, I left the dealership with a brand-new car. A car that didn’t fall apart when I shut the door, no blankets were needed to cover up the ugly seats and I didn’t have to whisper “please”  before I turned the key in the ignition. I was so proud. I had just been a poor student a few years back and now I was the proud owner of monthly payments for my brand-new vehicle.

the thinker

“You smoked, you are an addict” that’s what I learned when I quit smoking and it made me flinch inside.

I just smoked and I stopped, so why am I an addict? It bothered me so much. How can I use words like addict and addiction, if I don’t really understand the meaning.

A man observed a woman in the grocery store with a 3-year-old girl in her basket. As they passed the cookie section, the little girl asked for cookies and her mother told her no. The little girl immediately began to whine and fuss.

The mother said quietly, “Now Monica, we just have half of the aisles left to go through; don’t be upset. It won’t be long.”
