What a history this show has. The list of distinguished hosts includes names like Barbara Walters, Tom Brokaw, Bryant Gumbel, Katie Couric and Meredith Vieira. Even Matt Lauer, who got fired for sexual misconduct in November, could be named as a good journalist in his early years. Yes, there was a time when good journalism was part of the show.

It’s not clear whether he’s busking for money, or just having a jam, but he wows passers-by with an incredible medley of tunes ranging from rave classic Insomnia by Faithless to Dr. Dre’s g-funk banger Still D.R.E.
I remember the time when we got our first TV in the 70’s. It was a showcase, a decoration piece in our living room; we only turned it on in the evenings. There weren’t too many channels back then, we had ORF I and II, the Austrian TV stations, we could get the German channels ZDF and ARD on clear days and we watched Rai the Italian TV station.
