I can’t help but smile when I think about all the Holiday geese who found their way into our kitchen. Roasted goose with potato dumplings and homemade red cabbage. A feast of the past, today a treat I rarely prepare anymore. It’s not worth the effort I have decided, but the smile on my face tells me otherwise.
Stay home, they say and I do.
Don’t stress out, they say and I try.

and I know they are lying.
The Oscars and I have broken up years ago, not sure what happened between us, I suppose we were tired of each other, had different points of views, had drifted apart over time. Yet, here I find myself being mesmerized by an Oscar acceptance speech. A voice for the voiceless.
The headline made me so happy, I had to share it with everybody I know and of course, that includes my readers here on The Happy Quitter.
One year of Trump, what is left to say, that hasn’t been said or written on my blog and so many others. One year later I am still upset and in shock about Trump and his supporters, nothing has changed. My willingness to accept him and all the backward changes he and his rich friends are making, is still zero.

Cleaning fairy #3 was a Russian lady, who came from a country which belonged to Russia in the past and now they don’t speak Russian anymore -turned out she didn’t speak much English either. Needless to say, we had some communication problems. She knocked on my door and introduced herself as HOUSECLEANING, what made me feel like a guest in a luxury hotel. “You show me chemicals,” she demanded, and the way she talked to me scared me a bit.
“She is white, he is black,” that’s how an older woman described our new neighbors to me and her face showed disapproval. We are a mostly white neighborhood and a mixed racial couple disturbs a lot of the older people here. They are nice to them, don’t cause any harm; the hurt is done behind their back in the way people talk about them – especially her.
Yesterday at AGT (America got Talent) the female judge Mel B. got up and threw water at Simon Cowell. That wasn’t a first; she and Heidi Klum have done it before. Whenever the ladies are lost for words or don’t have a smart reply, they chose to throw a temper tantrum like little kids in Kindergarten.
