Just in case you don’t know me. Let me introduce myself. I am Bridget, the scribbler of The Happy Quitter, and for sure the only blogger out there who asks people to unfollow my blog. Yep! I did that already a few times throughout the years, and this week I did it again.
Sunday morning when Kurt came out of the bedroom, I had to hold back laughter. Wearing new stiff jeans, new cowboy boots, a striped shirt, and a brand-new jacket, he looked like he had just stepped out of a western movie. All that was missing was a cowboy hat, which he showed us later.
OPEN and HONEST, these two words go hand in hand. You can not be honest without opening up, and you can’t be open without being honest. It’s not easy, it takes some courage and you have to be prepared for destructive criticism.
Yesterday I had an unexpected reaction to a blog post. An older man, in his 60′ or 70’s had written a post about Bras. It’s wasn’t a funny post. He wasn’t sharing his lifelong KNOW-HOW on how to open a bra with one hand, or a story about all the bras he might have had the pleasure of meeting in his lifetime.
No, it was a dry post about how to correctly measure a bra, how to wear it and some other guidelines for women, who might be new in the ‘bra’ business and/or are on the lookout for some guidance ala Oprah.
Not sure what happened the other night, but in the morning, when my feet hit the floor, I knew it wouldn’t be a good day. The sun was too bright, the wake-up music too loud. The dogs were on my nerves, even though they didn’t do anything else than greeting me like every day. The house was a mess, my hair had grown 3 inches overnight and my t-shirt felt wrong.

Hillary Clinton said the following in 2016, which many believed labeling some of the Trump supporters as deplorables, cost her the win. Personally, I thought this part of her speech was arrogant and highly stupid -but not untrue:
Every year during the Holiday season we get fruitcakes from our neighbors. We smile politely and hand out a tin box of cookies in exchange -always thinking they got the better deal. The fruitcakes end up in our fridge. It’s like during a rainy summer when you end up with too many zucchinis in your garden -all football size and bigger- and you try to come up with a solution to get rid of them.
I haven’t been very active in the blogging world, had my hands full offline. My husband got hurt on the job site December 3rd, and ever since we are living the Workman’s Comp nightmare, like so many before us.
I am angry. Very very angry.
Like the rest of the nation, I am watching the Kavanaugh hearing, and I can only do it in small dosages to prevent my head from exploding.
A got a good laugh out of it, but then I felt sadness.
I have never been to a political rally, but I don’t think this is normal. The removal of law-abiding citizens, just because they don’t show the enthusiasm, they were ordered to show.
