‘How do you want your eggs?’ the waitress asked.
It was our weekly routine. She asked, and I didn’t know what to say.

My husband has gained some weight since he quit smoking. I noticed it a couple of weeks ago, and it made me smile. Life has its good moments.

“I need cash maybe 50 bucks,” he said and waived a plastic card in front of me. I had seen the young man before; he lived just a few houses down the street with an older lady.

I wish our refrigerator could talk. I mean why not? Everything else seems to be able to talk these days; GPS systems, phones, check out registers and cars, so why can’t our appliances talk?

“That’s not fair, he got the bigger piece,” she looked at me and she was almost crying. It was true, he had the bigger piece and once again I became the referee in a sibling’s rivalry.
It’s always the same when these two come to visit me. Spider and her brother love each other dearly, but they can fight like cats and dogs over small stuff. They are neighbor kids and they love to stop by my workshop.

There was a farmer who grew excellent quality corn. Every year he won the award for the best grown corn. One year a newspaper reporter interviewed him and learned something interesting about how he grew it. The reporter discovered that the farmer shared his seed corn with his neighbors. “How can you afford to share your best seed corn with your neighbors when they are entering corn in competition with yours each year? ” the reporter asked.

I just spend a few hours in my kitchen preparing food for our annual Thanksgiving feast tomorrow. Our fridge is full; there is not an inch of space left on the shelves. The vegetable drawers and the door spaces are filled up and overflowing with food and beverages.
