Revenge can be sweet~!

I don’t know if I am the only one, but I have to admit, that there were times when money was tight, so tight that we really had to juggle around what we had, to make ends meet. Times, when we searched our house top to bottom for change, so we could buy cigarettes and maybe a burger to share. Once or twice a check bounced, because we were just a little bit late with our deposits. The bank knew us, these were the times when bank employees actually knew you by name and we knew the employees as well.

The Price of Freedom today!

John Oliver’s show “Last week tonight” is one of my guilty pleasures. I wish his show would be accessible to everyone and a local TV station would broadcast it instead of HBO, but then I suppose that’s not possible, because we don’t curse on local TV on prime time, we prefer to “bleep” the obvious.

IF the local or national government accomplishes one thing this year -I had to laugh about this one. We already question that they might just get “one” thing right, it’s pretty sad when you think about it. God forbid they have deal with more than one issue.

Heaven or Hell?

I am sitting on my desk as I do every Monday, write and answer emails, pay a few bills, because I have to and make a long to-do-list for the week ahead of me. The TV in my workroom is still on, I forgot to turn it off. Normally I would listen to music by now. I can’t take the news for too long anymore, can’t listen to it without mumbling my comments and talking to myself comes in handy these days.

Hawaii – First state to raise smoking age to 21?

Lawmakers passed the final reading and Senate Bill 1030 is now on the Governors desk. This bill would make it illegal for anyone under the age of 21 to sell, possess, consume or purchase tobacco products, including electronic cigarettes and other smoking devices. Hawaii would be the first state to take this drastic step and the law would take effect on January 1st of 2016.

I changed my opinion and outlook on different subjects throughout my life and I would not necessarily call it “flip flopping”. A change of mind comes with knowledge and education or just simply, because we grow older and that’s a good thing. Imagine we all would keep the opinions and believes we had in our teenage years? Gruesome idea!

Political Déjà vu

The school system in Europe is a little bit different, they torture little innocent children with Latin and old Greek and bore them senseless with stories of ancient Greece and the Roman empire. To the point that paying attention is an automatic self defense. You might as well go ahead and learn everything they tell you to, before you are hopelessly lost.

Some of our laws just puzzle me. Well, let me rephrase this a little bit, it’s not so much the laws, but the way they are being enforced. Let me give you an example, we all agree, that alcohol and cigarettes should not be sold to people under age…under the age of 21 to be exact.

The new rules for black people in America

I am saddened by recent events. One day I will sit down and will write about what I really think and feel. I didn’t understand it 30 years ago and I don’t understand it now…I never will. I have been born and raised in Europe, in a region that had scars all over. Scars that had been left by world war II, discrimination, racism and the hate crimes committed then. I went to school and learned about it, thinking “this will never happen again. It can’t happen again, because we are smarter, because we learned from past mistakes”.

Dear Politician(s),

Today I got lucky and can write to you and for the first time you will be able to understand what I am trying to say since years. Thanks to the daily prompt, today you guys will be not illiterate, because that’s what you are right? I mean you guys can’t read or write correct? I mean this has to be it, it’s the only logical explanation I can come up with. That, or you communicate in a language that human being just can’t understand.
